We must hold our Government to high standards

  • By Dr. Charles Omole

We must hold our Government to high standards. In civilised Nations; there is a convention of “Purder Period” during elections. This is a period after which incumbent govt cannot announce or implement new policies with public fund that can be perceived as political campaign.
This is because political campaigns should be funded by parties not public purse. Hence the govt should not be seen as hiding behind public policy delivery to fund its campaign indirectly. Hence the Purder Period of no new announcement or implementation. Wise perspective indeed
