Why men rebel

In his book “Why men rebel“, Ted Gurr outlined a theory that describes process from high expectations in society to d emergence of violent conflicts that arise from disappointment of these. I now think what has kept us from total societal breakdown is low expectation of Nigerians
Causes of our maladies are so multifaceted that many don’t know what to believe anymore. Claims & Counterclaims by all sides. In this confusion, folks are highly susceptible to new doctrines which provide palatable explanations that fit their biases thus fueling Senseless loyalty
But if we do not raise our expectations of leaders, they have no impetus to behave or do what is right. Crumbs will be what they offer & we will be thanking them for it. Change will not be GIVEN, it can only be DEMANDED by a better-informed citizenry. We must raise our standards
