Don’t sell your future for temporary gain.

But we have a problem. Lack of human capital dev. Citizens are just humans but with education becomes human capital. We invest 0.7% of our GDP in education. We are lowest in mainstream Africa. Recommended level is over 20%.AFRICA averages 12%. The giant of Africa spends the least
Without good education; we have no future as a nation. At least not one worth contemplating. Education spending is considered Investment by modern calculations. That should be our number one priority. Good education should become a Right for Nigerians. We must demand a new deal.
Yes we need to fight corruption. But such fight is not a finite war. It is a perpetual battle at improving. We cannot keep everything else on hold while we just fight corruption.
Education is getter worse, but we fight corruption. We are now the global poverty capital, but we fight corruption. Healthcare is dangerously inadequate but we fight corruption. We need ambidextrous leadership who can do more than one thing at a time.
As we improve spending on and increase the standard & affordability of solid Education; corruption will be reduced through a better informed citizenry and less pressure on family budget spent on expensive private education.
We need to take our country back. We must forfeit a perfect present to achieve a perfect future. We must refuse immediate gratification that perpetuate mediocre leadership sustains our maladies. We can do better that this. One vote & one action at a time; we can build a new nation
It’s not just about what happens in our lifetime but what nation we bequeath for posterity. We lack good elders in our polity. I know bcos good elders are those who willingly plant trees, under whose shade they know they may never sit. They plan and plant for the future we seek.
Do not sell your vote or your conscience. Don’t sell your future for temporary gain. We need a critical mass of opinion shapers and change agents. But without good education, you are left with a citizenry that fights you and side with their oppressors. Easily deceived.
The Oppressors want it this way. Using bad education & poverty to control the majority. It is cruel to starve a people and then dangle small change before them when they are desperate. But the army of informed citizens need to arise. Let the strong bear the infirmity of the weak.
