EDUCATION is key to securing the future of this country.

We need to wake up to the problems of the Politics of Poverty in Nigeria. According to NBS figures, looking at economic cycles, we have periods of Economic growth & downturns; But the poverty level grew in Nigeria during BOTH periods. So more became poor in growth as in downturn
This reveals that successive Govts did not lift Nigerians out of poverty regardless of the state or performance of the economy. So no govt since 1975 can claim to be not guilty of this incompetence management of the economy. So what is the problem?
Nigerian economy works on patronage that keeps its benefit circulating only amongst a few people. The majority are not carried along. In fact, the poor in Nigeria feed the Rich. It is poor tenant that makes money for rich landlord. How can our economy be made to be poor-focused?
With ‘Treadmill economics’, u appear to be busy & moving but you are actually not making any progress. You are still on the same spot. Giving people stipends to perpetuate Analogue enterprises in a Digital Age will not grow an economy. Esp when Innovation is killed & discouraged
We need to understand the currency of the future is in Innovation & Knowledge economy and not in trying to sustain a Manual, pedestrian labour intensive posture to economic growth. In an age where machines are building roads cheap and speedily, we are encouraging slow manual jobs
EDUCATION is key to securing the future of this country. This takes planning & time. It takes seeing Education as Investment and not as Cost. Labour Productivity & Efficiency is very low in Nigeria. 5 pp are employed to do job 1person can do. We run a 19th Century economy in 21st
So while everybody is shouting Corruption this and Corruption that…are we losing sight of what is most important? APC if we are honest are as corrupt as PDP. But they are also the two most likely parties to produce a winner in 2019. Are we asking them the right questions?
As one accuses the other of past corruption, more cases of corruption are uncovered daily in the accusers camp. So what do we do? Are we fashioning our economy to be able to exploit the opportunities of the 21st century or are we simply playing the politics of Poverty?
ASK the politicians for a VISION of the future they have for this country. Ask PMB & Atiku where they want us to be in 10yrs as a nation? How do we compete in a global economy when we make generating 7MW a Testimony when small Ghana generate more than 10 times that without noise
Make Investment and Plan for EDUCATION a key determinant of who you will support. We do not have the skilled population needed to support a digital knowledge economy. Lots of unskilled young people with Certificates that have not prepared them for a future they will confront.
Enough of this nonsense. We need to see through the Charade & misdirection of the politicians. We cannot isolate ourselves from the world. We need a system that not only boosts but support innovations. We have enough pepper & yam sellers. We need more innovators supported by government.
